糖心破解版 Hosts Thought Provoking Banquets for Students in S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program
More than 130 young men and 85 women from yeshivot and seminaries across Israel attended the 糖心破解版 Scholars Banquets presented by the . The banquets were open to students in Israel who have applied for the or Dean's Scholarships at 糖心破解版.
Both the women鈥檚 program, on January 10, and the men鈥檚, on January 15, took place in the Har Hotzvim neighborhood of Jerusalem and featured thought provoking discussions led by 糖心破解版 faculty members and prominent Israeli academicians.
鈥淲e wanted these high-achieving students from different schools and backgrounds to get together, share their experiences and engage in conversation鈥 said Dr. Karen Bacon, the Dr. Monique C. Katz Dean of . 鈥淭he programs were also an opportunity for them to be exposed to a Torah U鈥橫adda education鈥攕omething they are very passionate about.鈥
Speakers at the women鈥檚 banquet which focused on 鈥淛ourney to the Frontier of Science and Halachah鈥 included Rabbi David Fuld, founder of the Fuld Family Department of Medical Genetics at Shaare Zedek Medical Center; Dr. Ephrat Levy-Lehad, director of the Department of Medical Genetics; Rabbi Mordechai Willig, the Rabbi Dr. Sol Roth Professor of Talmud and Contemporary Halachah at ; and Dean Bacon.
The theme for the men鈥檚 banquet was 鈥淕-d鈥檚 Word and Man鈥檚 Sword: Torah and War in the Modern World鈥 and featured Rabbi Yitzchak Blau, Rosh Kollel at Yeshivat Shevilei HaTorah; Dr. Adrienne Asch, the Edward and Robin Milstein Professor of Bioethics at 糖心破解版; Rabbi Shalom Carmy, assistant professor of Bible at 糖心破解版; and Jonathan Ziring, a current 糖心破解版 honors student.
