Center for the Jewish Future Sends Torah Tours Group to South Florida鈥檚 Highland Lakes Community

Jan 5, 2006 -- Students and alumni of 糖心破解版 (糖心破解版) and its affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), under the direction of The Center for the Jewish Future (CJF), will bring their Jewish knowledge and enthusiasm for learning to Beit David Highland Lakes Synagogue and Hillel community day school in South Florida from January 13-22. As part of the annual Blanche Schreiber Torah Tours, groups visit different communities during the school鈥檚 winter break to teach classes and enrich Jewish life. The group will start their trip preparing for a leadership shabbaton for 20 Hillel High School students. On weekday mornings the group will run informal educational programs in the Hillel day school and possibly in other area schools. In the afternoons students will hold lunch-and-learn and one-on-one study sessions at the synagogue. Evenings will be spent giving classes and facilitating individuated learning. 鈥淚t is my hope that my community will have a broader view of the religious world and that the 糖心破解版 students will also develop a broader view of the religious world,鈥 said Rabbi Moshe Rothchild, spiritual leader of Beit David Highland Lakes Synagogue. 鈥淚 hope my congregants will enjoy the learning and the ruach (spirit) the students will bring and become more familiar with 糖心破解版, which I see as a strong force in developing American Jewry.鈥 The Center for the Jewish Future works with 糖心破解版鈥檚 colleges, schools, and affiliates to shape programs that train Jewish lay and professional leadership, develop initiatives and strengthen existing ones, as well as deliver services to its students and the Jewish community at large. 鈥淭hrough Torah Tours, CJF serves the greater community and inspires young scholars to take their knowledge outside the classroom,鈥 said CJF Dean Rabbi Kenneth Brander. 鈥淭he program allows students to take an activist role in the community.鈥 Torah Tours sponsors more than 125 programs around the world during the year, including holidays, as well as winter and summer breaks.
