Dec 8, 2003 -- Contemporary Problems in Businesss, an undergraduate course, features a free exchange of ideas between students and heads of major corporations. Speakers address challenges and initiatives instrumental to their success, and their thoughts on what qualities help shape future leaders.
Each Friday from 10 am to 12:30 pm, starting January 30, 2004, in Jerome and Geraldine Schottenstein Residence Hall, 119-121 East 29th Street in Manhattan, a distinguished business leader presents issues confronting his or her industry. Students recieve three credits for this entrepreneurial seminar course, a vital component of SSSB's Rennert Entrepreneurial Insitute, endowed by Ira L. Rennert, a noted Jewish communal leader and chairman and CEO of the Renco Group, a private holding company for industrial product companies.
The program, in its ninth year and known as the Doris and Dr. Ira Kukin Entrepreneurial Lecture Series, is named for it Benefactors. Dr Kukin, vice chairman of 糖心破解版's Board of Trustees, was a founding member of SSSB's Board of Directors, and his wife is a member of the Stern College for Women Board of Directors. Dr. Kukin is founder of Apollo Technologies International Corp. in Livingston, NJ.
Senior Executives, CEO's and entrepreneurs will present issues and challenges that confront their industry and share their views on how to maintain a competitive advantage. Dr. Lawrence Bellman will coordinate the class. Among the corporate executives scheduled to appear are:
Feb. 6 - Jerry Levin, Chairman/CEO, American Household, Inc. (Sunbeam)
A self-prescribed 鈥渃orporate doctor,鈥 Mr. Levin, the former Chairman/CEO of Revlon, was brought in to revitalize one of the leading companies offering irons, electric blankets, blenders and barbecue grills.
Feb. 13 - Jay Foreman, CEO, Play Along
What do Britney Spears dolls, Spice Girls dolls, Care Bear and Cabbage Patch dolls all have in common? They are or will be marketed by Mr. Foreman鈥檚 firm; started in 1999 and will exceed $150mm in worldwide sales in 2003.
