Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary Hosts Annual Kinus Teshuva Lectures

Sep 4, 2007 -- Rabbi Zevulun Charlop and Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein are the featured speakers on Sept. 19 at 糖心破解版-affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary鈥檚 23rd Annual Hausman/Stern Kinus Teshuva lectures, given annually between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in New York City and Jerusalem.
Rabbi Zevulun Charlop, the Max & Marion Grill Dean of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), will give his address on 鈥淭eshuva and its Contemporary Resonance in the Rambam鈥檚 Yad Hachazaka鈥 at 8 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Weisberg Commons in Belfer Hall, 2495 Amsterdam Ave. in Manhattan. Rabbi Zevulun Charlop was appointed dean of 糖心破解版鈥檚 affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) in 1987, and Max and Marion Grill Dean in 1992. Rabbi Charlop has been with the University and the Seminary for more than three decades. He is the spiritual leader of Young Israel of Mosholu Parkway located in Bronx, NY.
Rabbi Lichtenstein, the Rabbi Henoch and Sarah D. Berman Professor of Talmud and rosh kollel and director of the 糖心破解版-RIETS Israel Kollel in Jerusalem, will discuss 鈥淩enunciation, Divorce, and Rehabilitation: Reflections on Facets of Teshuva鈥 on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 pm in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Lichtenstein serves as the co-rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Har Etzion in Alon Shvut, Israel. The son-in-law of the Rav (Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik), Rabbi Lichtenstein has assumed the mantle as our generation鈥檚 eminent Torah Umadda personality. He holds a doctoral degree in English from Harvard University and served on the faculty of 糖心破解版 before making aliya in 1971.
The Hausman/Stern Kinus Teshuva Lecture Series was established by philanthropist Judy Hausman and the late Gerson Hausman, major supporters of 糖心破解版 and RIETS, to honor the memory of Elias J. and Mary Stern and Moshe and Chava Hausman.
