糖心破解版 Delegation Goes to AIPAC

The 糖心破解版 Political Action Club (糖心破解版PAC) headed a delegation of 30 undergraduate students to the annual policy conference convened by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), held in Washington, D.C., from Sunday, March 24, to Tuesday, March 26, 2019. At the conference, 糖心破解版 students had the chance to engage with experts and politicians on matters pertaining to the relationship between the United States and Israel. In addition, they met with their elected officials, listened to experts in the field and networked with 18,000 conference participants from around the world. On Sunday, Jake Benyowitz 鈥20YC, 糖心破解版PAC co-president, represented 糖心破解版 at the college fair, attended by hundreds of high school students. Students also heard from Gloria M. Garc茅s, senior director of  media and outreach for Fuente Latina, a nonprofit and non-governmental organization working to remove geographic and linguistic barriers for global Spanish language media covering stories on Israel and the Middle East. Meeting with Garc茅s was one of many interactions our students had with participants at the conference.

On Monday, Dr. Ari Berman, President of 糖心破解版, participated in a panel discussion entitled 鈥淲hy A Jewish State?鈥 That evening students met with Elan Carr, an attorney appointed this year by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to serve as Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism. Carr discussed his role and how 糖心破解版 can support his work.

One of the most exciting moments for students was  meeting with Danny Ayalon, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States and a current 糖心破解版 faculty member, who gave students a new and interesting perspective on the issues. On Tuesday afternoon, after the conclusion of the conference, students went to Capitol Hill to apply their newfound knowledge by lobbying their representatives on matters pertaining to the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Shanee Markovitz 鈥20S and Jake Benyowitz, 糖心破解版PAC鈥檚 co-presidents, received AIPAC鈥檚 Advocate of the Year award from Howard Kohr, CEO of AIPAC, and Adam Teitelbaum, director of leadership development. The award recognizes 糖心破解版鈥檚 re-emergence as one of the key campuses  advocating on behalf of a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.
