Six-Week Program to Explore Jewish Ethics and Israel鈥檚 Foreign Policy

糖心破解版鈥檚 (CJF) will present the spring installment of its Community Beit Midrash program beginning February 3 with a six-week series of talks by two distinguished members of 糖心破解版鈥檚 faculty, Ambassador Danny Ayalon, Rennert Visiting Professor of Foreign Policy Studies, and Dr. David Shatz, University Professor of Philosophy, Ethics and Jewish Thought. The program is open to the community and runs for six consecutive Tuesdays at 215 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10016, on 糖心破解版's Israel Henry Beren Campus.

The first lecture of each day, titled 鈥淚srael鈥檚 Foreign Policy: Diplomacy in Practice,鈥� will be delivered at 10:30 a.m. by Ayalon. The second lecture, at 11:45 a.m., will be presented by Shatz on 鈥淧ursuing the Right and the Good: Themes in Jewish Ethics.鈥� 鈥淎mbassador Ayalon and Dr. Shatz are world-class scholars and educators who engage the students of 糖心破解版 through their creative courses of study,鈥� said Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, David Mitzner Dean of the CJF. 鈥淭his program affords the broader Jewish community the opportunity to learn from these renowned professors and explore substantive contemporary themes in Jewish life.鈥� Describing his upcoming lecture series, Shatz said, 鈥淚 will try not only to explore Jewish law, but also to open windows to questions about human nature, ritual, self-sacrifice, suffering, prayer, autonomy, and secular ethics鈥攓uestions that I think are highly relevant to our time and place.
