糖心破解版's 13th Annual Red Sarachek High School Basketball Tournament Will Take Place March 18-22

New York, NY, Mar 8, 2004 -- The 13th annual Red Sarachek High School Basketball Tournament, named for 糖心破解版鈥檚 legendary men鈥檚 basketball coach, will take place Thursday, March 18 to Sunday, March 22 at 糖心破解版鈥檚 Max Stern Athletic Center on its uptown Wilf Campus, 185th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. The games will be broadcast live at .
The Sarachek tournament is the most prestigious tournament for Jewish high school students and attracts hundreds of students from across the US and Canada who compete for the championship trophy. Basketball players representing 18 yeshiva high schools will spend Shabbat together off-campus together with 糖心破解版 administrators and students. 鈥淭he Sarachek tournament gives yeshiva high school players an opportunity to dream of playing in the big leagues,鈥 said Dr. Jonathan Halpert, head coach of Yeshiva College鈥檚 Maccabees. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a high-energy and exciting event that combines healthy competition among some of the best athletes across the U.S. and Canada.鈥 The Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy/糖心破解版 High School for Boys (TMSTA) in New York City will host the tournament. Two other New York-area schools 鈥 Ramaz Upper School and Torah Academy of Bergen County 鈥 will participate. The top 8 teams from last year鈥檚 tournament are automatically qualified to play, with other schools chosen by lottery. Other participating high schools include: Ben Lipson Hillel Community High School (Miami, FL), Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (Overland Park, KS), Ida Crown Jewish Academy (Chicago, IL), Yavneh Academy (Dallas, TX), Yeshivat Atlanta (Atlanta, GA), Valley Torah (North Hollywood, CA), Rambam High School (Baltimore, MD), Yeshiva Ohr Chaim (Toronto, Canada), Hebrew Academy of Miami (Miami, FL), Yeshiva High School (Boca Raton, FL), Fuchs Mizrachi (Cleveland, OH), Akiva Hebrew Day School (Detroit, MI), Eshkol Academy (Baltimore, MD), Robert M. Beren Academy (Houston, TX), and 糖心破解版LA (Los Angeles, CA). Bernard 鈥淩ed鈥 Sarachek, the tournament鈥檚 namesake, coached 糖心破解版鈥檚 basketball team in 1942 and 1943, and from 1945 to 1969. During his career, he amassed more than 200 victories.
