Each of these women is portrayed with complexity and depth, offering multiple interpretations and layers of meaning. Through close reading and discussion, we will uncover the significance of their narratives and examine why each woman's story is integral to the Genesis text and its enduring messages. Gemara: Crash Course: Kiddushin (Second Perek) with Noa BerkowitzMondays: 8:00- 9:00 p.m.November 3- December 8In this course we will learn the 2nd perek of Masechet Kiddushin, Ha鈥橢ish Mekadesh. Perek Ha鈥橢ish Mekadesh discusses the concept of Shlichus, the appointment of an agent to act on your behalf. We will have the opportunity to look at some sources for Shlichus as well as understand its application in different situations, for instance the performance of mitzvot and aveirot. Halakha: Aggadic and Kabbalistic Influences on the Halakhic Process with Rabbi David NachbarSundays- 9:30-10:30 a.m. November 30-January 4This course will explore the potential influences of Aggadic and Kabbalistic thought on the halakhic process. Some overarching points of inquiry will include an evaluation of whether definitive fault lines exist that distinguish between the respective disciplines. In addition, the authoritative and normative status of Aggadic and Kabbalistic teachings will be explored. Specific halakhic case studies will help crystallize the broader considerations and guidelines that determine the impact of Aggadah and Kabbalah on the study and practice of halakha. Past Programs:
