The Katz School of Science and Health offers two pathways to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing — a Transfer B.S. in Nursing for students with 62+ college credits or an associate's degree, and an Accelerated B.S. in Nursing for students with a bachelor's degree in any non-nursing field. Both programs deliver a competency-based curriculum aligned with the AACN's 2026 Essentials Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education and prepare graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.

Transfer B.S. in Nursing

If you have at least 62 undergraduate credits or an associate's degree — but have not yet earned a bachelor's degree — the ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Katz School of Science and Health Transfer B.S. in Nursing is your direct path to a nursing career. This 21-month, 62-credit program counts your prior academic work toward admission and gets you to the bedside faster. You'll complete nursing coursework, simulation training, and seven clinical rotations at top NYC hospitals.

Accelerated B.S. in Nursing

If you hold a bachelor's degree in any field other than nursing, the ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Katz School of Science and Health Accelerated B.S. in Nursing is your fast track to a new career. This 16-month, 62-credit program is built for motivated career changers from every professional background — business, education, the sciences, the arts, and beyond. In four consecutive full-time semesters, you'll complete nursing coursework, simulation training, and seven clinical rotations at top NYC hospitals.

Our 15,000 sq. ft. Nursing Simulation & Skills Center is one of the largest and most modern nursing training facilities in New York City. Opened in 2024, the center features high-fidelity simulation labs, clinical skills stations, and patient care environments designed to mirror real hospital settings — so you're ready for clinical rotations from day one.

Located at 245 East 41st Street in Midtown Manhattan, the building is two blocks from Grand Central Station and surrounded by some of New York's leading academic medical centers, including Bellevue Hospital, NYC Health + Hospitals (HHC), Montefiore, Maimonidies Medical Center, Cavalry Hospital, and Mount Sinai.

What's the difference between the Transfer and Accelerated B.S. in Nursing programs at ÌÇÐÄÆÆ½â°æ Katz?
The Transfer B.S. in Nursing is for students with 62+ undergraduate credits or an associate's degree who have not yet earned a bachelor's degree — it takes 21 months across 5 semesters. The Accelerated B.S. in Nursing is for career changers who already hold a bachelor's degree in any non-nursing field — it takes 16 months across 4 semesters. What clinical rotations are included in the B.S. in Nursing programs?
Both the Transfer and Accelerated B.S. in Nursing programs include seven clinical rotations at hospitals and healthcare agencies across the NYC metro area: Medical-Surgical Nursing I, Medical-Surgical Nursing II, Maternity Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Community and Population Health Nursing, and Transition to Practice. All placements are coordinated by the program.

Is there an AI in Nursing course?
Yes. Both programs offer an optional AI in Nursing elective — one of the first nursing electives of its kind in New York City. Students explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping clinical practice, including diagnostic AI, clinical decision support tools, intelligent documentation, and patient monitoring systems.
